What Can You Make With A Home Lamination Machine?
As a former kindergarten teacher, I know the importance of making sure that my crafts hold up to the use and “love” that kids tend to show. That’s why I like to laminate as many craft projects as I can!
Not only does it ensure that you don’t have to craft it again right away, but it allows you to reuse projects from child to child as they grow and move on to new games.
It also lets you clean them more easily 😉
Why I Decided On A Home Lamination Machine
You may wonder why I decided on a home lamination machine, instead of just continuing to use my local office supply store or copy shop?
Well, recently I was putting the final touches on an Alphabet Game for my 3 year old and I did go to my local office supply store… where they wanted almost $25 for just the laminating!
FOR ONE GAME?!
To me, that was insane, so I new it was time to branch out and look for the best home lamination machine for those of us who are tired of wasting money!
The Best Home Lamination Machine
When I start looking for a laminator for my home, I had a list of things I wanted to find all in one machine.
Key Points I Was Looking For:
• A roll laminator (versus pouch laminator).
• Small size, easy to store.
• Wide enough to accommodate at least 11″ wide paper.
• Easy to replace film.
• Cost effective. I wanted the payback on buying my own to be as low as possible.
I assumed that a laminator like this didn’t exist and that I was just going to have to keep an eye out for quite a while before finding the perfect machine. But I was so wrong!
I found it almost right away! It’s called the Ultima 35 EZLoad; I knew I had found the one and it was at my house a few weeks later! Check it out!
Here’s the project I’m making in that video if you’re curious 😉
Here are a few of the Ultima 35 EZLoad Features!
• Fast 1 minute warm-up time
• Laminates at fixed 39″ per minute
• EZload® technology eliminates film loading mistakes
• Built-in trimmer and reverse function
• Maximum document with of 12″ wide
• Compatible with 1.7 to 5 mil, 12″ width EZload roll film on 1″ core
• Heat Shoe Accutherm™ heating technology promises flawless, consistent results
• LED ready light
• Auto standby after 1 hour and shut off after 2 hours of non-use
• Limited 1-year warranty
There are so many additional features that I hadn’t even thought to want! Like the built in trimmer, fast warm up time, and lamination speed, just to name a few!
It was also completely easy to store, even in our 800 square foot house we had zero issues finding a place for it! It’s much smaller than our printer and fit under a cabinet without a problem!
Roll Lamination Machine versus Pouch Laminator
As I said earlier, I knew that I wanted a roll laminator instead of a pouch laminator. The reason for this is simply a cost saving measure!
If I have one small thing I want to laminate, or several large things, I’m able to use as much or as little film as I need. I don’t have to make sure things are fitted into the pouch properly, and I don’t waste money by using a pouch too large for my item.
Also, pouches have their limitations. With this roll laminator I could laminate a 300″ foot long item if I wanted to (hello Declaration of Independence recreation project!)!
Additionally, with the pouch lamination option, you have to place your items inside the pouch, then very carefully place the pouch into the lamination machine and hope that things don’t move around. And they always do…
Cost of Home Lamination Machine
So the big question… is it affordable?
In my opinion, the answer is a BIG FAT YES!
If you figure in the cost of having a job done somewhere else ($25 a pop), then this machine has a pay back of less than 13 projects! Even if you only make one per month (I make a lot more than that!), this machine pays for itself in a single year!
This lamination machine is a must have for anyone who is making crafts, lists, bulletin boards, or anything you want to last more than 3 minutes!

The possibilities with this are really endless, in my opinion. But here are just a few things you can create and laminate with the Ultima 35 EZLoad!

• Checklists

• Photos
• Signs

That’s good to know that you can choose how much film you use when you get a roll laminator since you don’t have to make sure the thing fits in the pouch. This would be really helpful since I homeschool my kids and I’m trying to figure out how I can put up different signs in the “classroom”. I’ll have to look into getting a roll laminator so I can laminate more things and even make some smaller pieces that we can use for different learning games.
