How To Cook Scented Play Dough Recipe
So how do you make it? Super easy. Yes, you need a pan– this is a cook recipe, but the texture is so divine t will be worth it!
Grab a medium sized saucepan, the following few ingredients, and get making!
- 1 1/2 cups of flour
- ½ cup of salt
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 2 TBS vegetable oil
- 3 TBS + pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cup water
- Food coloring (optional)
Start by adding the water to the saucepan and bring it to a boil.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, pumpkin pie spice and cream of tartar together.
When the water is boiling, add the oil to it. Add the food coloring during this step as well. I find it to be less messy when added here, versus kneading it in to the scented play dough later.
Slowly stir in the powdered ingredients, mixing as you go.
Take off the heat and mix some more!
Dump the playdough ‘ball’ onto a cutting board or parchment paper so that it is easier to clean up. Mix and knead with your hands until the play dough is smooth. This playdough ‘ball’ will still be hot so BE CAREFUL! I don’t let my youngest littles help with this part.
