You need to know how to clean house fast because you want to have more time for fun things! Or at least that’s how I got started on figuring out a fast house cleaning system for our home.
Having fun with the kids is 1000x better than cleaning the house! But the problem is… the house still needs to get cleaned up. We’ve figured out a few hacks to clean house fast, and today I’m sharing the tools that have made cleaning bathrooms way faster for us!
Get Kids Involved In Cleaning
If I can choose between FUN and cleaning, I choose fun pretty much every single time. One thing that helps is teaching the kids to clean up after themselves.. yes, it’s harder work at first to teach them rather than do it yourself, but worth it!
Toddlers are generally very willing to help out, so if you’ve got a toddler, give them a rag and get started! Encourage them to wipe down the cabinets, get them a stool and have them wipe the counter tops.
Lots of smiles and praise (and a dance party!) reinforce that cleaning is fun! If I only I believed it as easily as my toddlers do, ha!
Sometimes we’ll even hold our toddlers up and have them wipe down the mirrors. Do we have to follow up after them? Yes, but by the time they’re 5, they can do a pretty solid job!
If kids are 5 or older and they haven’t been involved in cleaning before now, they may not be thrilled about the idea. Work on a task together, don’t start by sending older kids off to work on tasks by themselves.
Company helps make cleaning more fun. 🙂 Bonus – cleaning together sometimes surprises me by turning into sweet quality time!
How To Clean House Fast With These Amazing Tools
Here’s the thing. Even with help, I was tired of cleaning so often! One day, I decided I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
I want to have my cake and eat it too, darn it! It’s 2023. The Jetsons had Rosie… There HAS to be some decent technology out there to help me spend less time cleaning!
1. Shark 2 in 1 Vacuum & Mop
This is not for getting the best, deepest clean ever, but it does reduce the amount of time I spend sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping in the bathroom. I use it on all of the hard floor in my house, but when I use it in the bathroom, I just set it in the bathroom, turn it on and close the door!
We got ours at Costco, but recently Amazon had a better price.
2. neverscrub Automatic Toilet Cleaner
Game changer right here! We have two bathrooms, 5 people, lots of company, and lots of flushing. They lasted for months before we needed refills! There is a very faint, clean-smelling fragrance that comes from these, and they really work! It took my husband a only few minutes to install them.
3. Automatic Scrubber Tool
This tool makes cleaning shower walls a breeze! I HATED cleaning my tile shower walls, and I thought that the grout lines were so painfully tedious and it drove me crazy.
I rarely could finish because I was bored out of my mind and apparently have very little self-discipline!
Now, I use a power scrubbing tool and some hydrogen peroxide on my white tile & grout in our showers. Power scrubbing makes this chore much faster and I don’t have to do it very often because it does a great job.
Less cleaning, mom win!
4. e-cloth Cleaning Cloth Starter Set
Clean mirrors in minutes? Yes please! Quick counter wipe down? Done! I cannot overstate how wonderfully effective this cleaning cloth starter set is, and how efficient it makes cleaning. Affordable, reusable, and efficient. My kind of cleaning!
These tools have been amazing in helping me have more fun and adventures without completely sacrificing a clean bathroom. And the Shark 2-in-1 vacmop does the floors in my hallway, dining room, and kitchen too!
5. Hydrogen Peroxide
Spray and wipe down the flushing handle, the floor around the toilet, the toilet rim and seat with hydrogen peroxide. I stick these sprayers right on the big bottles of hydrogen peroxide I buy at Costco. You won’t need to worry about the toilet bowl thanks to your handy never scrub system, so don’t bother spraying that area!
