These easy peppermint bark brownies can be made with pre-made brownies, a box mix, or from scratch brownies! Check out this simple way to dress up a classic treat for the holidays!
Peppermint and chocolate are two of my favorite flavors, and putting them together always makes sense to me! And it makes even more sense during the holidays.
I baked up a pan of brownies this weekend and added some food-grade peppermint essential oil… It was just as delicious as ever!
Then I was reminded of one of my favorite Christmas treats: Peppermint bark!
So I set out to see about capturing that taste while throwing in the amazingness of a brownie! And boy did I manage!
Peppermint Bark Brownies
What I really love about this recipe is that you can use any kind of brownie you can get your hands on (store bought, box mix, homemade) and once the brownies are cut, it only takes about 5 minutes to have the finished product on the plate!
Step one: Take your cool brownies and cut into 1-2 inch squares.
Step two: Melt white chocolate chips in a double boiler, or the microwave. Once it’s melted, add 5 drops of food-grade peppermint essential oil for every cup of chips you melt.
Step three: While the chocolate is melting, place 10 hard peppermint candies into a plastic bag and break them up with a wooden rolling pin, or something similar. Leave some bigger pieces, don’t powder the candies.
Step four: Dip brownies into the white chocolate, coating the top edge to desired thickness.
Step five: Sprinkle crushed peppermints on the white chocolate while it’s still hot.
Serve warm or cool!
