Slime without glue - slime without borax

Traditionally slime is made with glue. And I have made lots of glue slime in my days as a kindergarten teacher and now as a mom, like this awesome snot slime recipe with printable gift card!

Another great way to make slime with glue is this easy 2 ingredient fairy glitter slime recipe!

But as much fun as that sticky, glue based slime can be, I really wanted to find a way to make a food-safe slime without glue that could be made on a regular basis. A glue-free slime that I could let my son play with however he saw fit!

These recipes for making slime without glue are all natural, non-toxic, and can be made with all organic ingredients if you want!

No glue, no borax, no contact solution… none of that stuff at all! Just all food-safe ingredients so even the youngest child can dig into their slime play without you worrying about them dealing with harsh chemicals!

2. Gelatin Slime

Making slime without glue is easy when you have some gelatin and a little corn syrup. These easy ingredients also make this slime technically edible if you have kids you might put it in their mouths.

It’s also a play with and toss slime as it wouldn’t store for a second round of play, so be sure to schedule a time when you can really play with it for a while before tossing!

3. Psyllium Husk Slime – No Cornstarch

This DIY slime also calls for psyllium husk, but doesn’t use cornstarch. A huge bonus for us, since all of our family members are allergic to corn!

It’s also a super easy slime recipe since it really only needs one ingredient and some water to make!

4. Gummy Bear Slime

A truly edible slime, this slime recipe calls for gummy bears, corn starch, and some powdered sugar!

We use the organic Black Forest gummy bears, corn-free powdered sugar, and arrowroot powder to avoid corn and corn syrup… works really well!
