For 2 years my son had Thomas and Friends trains sitting in his toy box. And for 2 years he completely ignored them. I assumed it was because he had never seen any of the shows and that once we started letting him watch Thomas and Friends shows and movies that he would find them and play with them…
Much to my surprise, a few months ago he pulled the 3 little trains out of his toy box and started carrying them around like they were his favorite toys!
Thus began our rapid and delightful plunge into the world of Thomas the Tank Engine.
Thomas and Friends Birthday Party
You can image my surprise (not) when he told me he wanted a Thomas birthday party when he turned 3! We have fallen in love with that cheeky little blue engine as well, so we were happy to oblige!
And being a do-it-yourself kind of mom, I knew I wanted to make as much as possible by hand. Though I did give in on the Thomas and Friend paper party goods 😉
DIY Thomas and Friends Party Bags
I knew that I wanted to give each child a wooden Thomas and Friends train to take home with them, along with a few other goodies like bubbles, mini wooden train whistles, and some homemade candy…
And I thought that matching their goodie bags to the train that they were getting would be a great treat as well!
Before I bought each train, I double checked with all the moms on which (if any) favorite trains they DIDN’T have yet and then I acquired those from vintage shops over the next few months.
You can also grab Thomas and Friends Trains from Amazon and have them in 2 days with Prime shipping!
You can of course make these bags and fill them with other goodies instead!
